First thing you should know about me, is that I am a Mermonte lover. (Okay, there is surely a couple of things more important but...meh...) My faaaavorite band in the whole world. They are a Rennes-based orchestra (West France), not known enough by the general public for my taste, considering their talent (especially the band leader's and composer's one, Ghislain Fracapane).
They have released two albums (http://mermonte.bandcamp.com/music), each track more beautiful than the others. Those are made of wonderful loops, entangled and paced until perfection. The thing is, a powerful and contagious joy seems to exhale from their instruments, their soothing choirs and their scenic impact (which makes me jiggle and smile each time I heard and/or see them).
We should also notice their beautiful works with La Blogothèque, for the wonderful film project Onamission and a concert in the continuum of the series of A take away show, in fact both directed and achieved in particular by Hugo Jouxtel, Henri D’Armancourt and Flora Alfonsi.
Here is a foretaste with a magnificent video, revealing the exact frame of mind of this great band. It has been taken by the crew of the festival I'm From Rennes 2015, at the Parc du Thabor in Rennes.
Following, a glimpse of their 2015 Dec concert in Laval at the passionate concert hall, the 6par4.
So far, you can easily understand my thrill and impatience as the third album of Mermonte should be out in 2016 !
Keep listening folks !
