Walk in the Brenne Regional Natural Park The first in a long series of articles on birding or trekking sites in the French pampas and more ... Especially in summer, many species (from butterflies, mammals to birds) are present, with 3/4 of the French endangered bird species migrating or staying in the Brenne Regional Park. Between the two migration periods, when it starts to get cold up there in northern Europe (October - March), thousands of Common Cranes pass over the Brenne. A small part stays there from November to February. It's quite amazing to hear them and then see them pass in a 'V' in the sky or in herds in the cornfields in stubble.
